1. Summary
LitPhoto mainly processes your selected photos on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and LitPhoto does not upload your photo library to our own servers for normal image compression, resizing, cropping, or format conversion.
However, the app uses third-party Google services such as AdMob, the User Messaging Platform (UMP), Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. These services may process identifiers, app/device information, diagnostics, ad interaction data, approximate location, IP address, and similar data as described in their own policies and depending on your region, settings, and consent choices.
2. Information we access or collect
| Category | Examples | Why it is used | Who handles it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photos and files you select | Images from your gallery, images captured with camera, processed result files, optional EXIF metadata kept in outputs | To compress, resize, crop, convert, preview, save, and share images | Primarily processed on your device by LitPhoto |
| App settings stored locally | Language, theme, output options, keep-EXIF choice, delete-original setting, permission prompt state, consent state | To remember your preferences and app behavior | Stored locally on your device |
| Diagnostics and performance data | Crash logs, stack traces, app version, device model, build type, version code, non-fatal errors | To detect crashes, troubleshoot bugs, and improve stability | Firebase Crashlytics / Firebase Analytics and the LitPhoto team |
| Advertising and consent data | Advertising ID, device/app identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad requests, ad interactions, consent choices | To request ad consent, display ads, limit fraud, and measure ad performance | Google AdMob and Google UMP |
| Update check request data | App version in the request path and ordinary network metadata such as IP address and user-agent-like request details | To determine whether an app update prompt should be shown | LitPhoto update endpoint at m.gaocangyun.com |
| Support communications you start | Email address, message content, and attachments you choose to send | To reply to your support or business inquiry | Your email provider and the LitPhoto team |
LitPhoto does not sell your personal information. We also do not operate an in-app account system for normal use of the app.
3. Your photos and files
On-device processing
LitPhoto is designed to work locally on your device. When you choose images from your gallery or take a new photo with your camera, those files are used to perform image compression, resizing, cropping, conversion, preview, and result export inside the app.
No routine upload of your photo library
LitPhoto does not upload your selected photos or your full photo library to our own servers simply because you use the core editing features. Your files stay on your device unless you deliberately share them with another app or service.
EXIF and embedded metadata
LitPhoto includes options that may preserve EXIF metadata in output files. If your original image contains metadata such as capture time, device information, or location information, and you choose to keep EXIF data, that metadata may remain in the exported image. Please review your sharing choices before sending files to other people or apps.
4. Permissions used by the app
| Permission | Purpose | Required? |
|---|---|---|
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE |
Read images that you select from your device so LitPhoto can preview and process them | Required for selecting local photos |
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (legacy devices) |
Save processed result files on older Android versions | Required only where the Android version still uses it |
CAMERA |
Allow you to capture a photo directly from the app | Optional unless you use the camera feature |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Notify you when background image processing finishes | Optional on Android 13+; core processing can continue without it |
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and related service permissions |
Keep long-running image processing tasks active while work is in progress | Needed for background processing behavior |
5. Ads, analytics, diagnostics, and consent
Google AdMob and UMP
LitPhoto uses Google AdMob to display ads and Google UMP to manage consent flows and privacy options where required by law. Depending on your location, consent status, and device settings, Google may process data such as advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, device and app information, ad performance data, and ad interaction data.
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics
LitPhoto uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app stability, feature quality, and crash behavior. These services may process device information, app version, identifiers, crash traces, interaction events, and diagnostic data.
Update checks
The app may contact a LitPhoto configuration endpoint to check whether a newer version should be promoted to you. This request may expose standard network metadata to the server operator, such as IP address and request details, along with the app version contained in the request path.
Third-party privacy notices
- Google Privacy Policy
- Firebase Data Processing and Privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
Because LitPhoto includes third-party advertising and analytics SDKs, your Google Play Data safety form must be reviewed carefully and kept consistent with the live app behavior and SDK configuration.
6. Sharing and external apps
LitPhoto lets you intentionally share one or more images using the Android share sheet. When you do that, the selected files are provided to the app or service you choose. Once the content leaves LitPhoto and is handed to another app, that third party handles the content under its own privacy practices.
LitPhoto may also open Google Play or an email client when you choose to rate the app, check a listing, or contact support.
7. Retention and deletion
- Selected photos and generated outputs remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
- Preferences saved by LitPhoto remain on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall the app.
- Crash, analytics, advertising, and consent-related data processed by Google services are retained according to Google’s policies and settings.
- If you email us, we may keep the communication long enough to respond, follow up, and maintain support records.
If you want to remove local LitPhoto data, you can delete result files, clear the app’s storage from Android system settings, or uninstall the app.
8. Your choices and controls
- You can deny optional permissions, including notification permission on supported Android versions.
- You can manage storage and camera permissions from your Android system settings.
- You can use the in-app privacy options flow when available for ad consent choices.
- You can limit or reset your advertising identifier through your Android/Google settings where supported.
- You can stop support communications by no longer contacting us via email.
9. Children
LitPhoto is not intended for children to provide personal information to us knowingly. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through a support email or another direct channel, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. International transfers
Third-party services used by LitPhoto, including Google services, may process data on servers located in different countries. By using LitPhoto, you understand that information handled by these providers may be transferred and processed outside your country, subject to the providers’ legal, contractual, and technical safeguards.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page. Material changes should also be reflected in the Google Play listing and, where appropriate, in-app disclosures.
